June Author Update: Building More Than Books

June has been a month of building.
In Emerson Grove, the TRG team is finally taking steps toward something they’ve worked years to achieve—a permanent headquarters. New faces are arriving, relationships are evolving, old wounds are being tested, and, as always, a little chaos isn’t far behind.
Outside of Emerson Grove, I’ve been building too.
One of the things I didn’t fully understand when I published my first book was that writing “The End” isn’t really the end at all. It’s the beginning of editing, proofreading, designing, planning, marketing, and occasionally staring at a screen, wondering why fictional people have become so demanding.
This month, I completed another major milestone in the series, and while there isn’t a finish line in sight yet, there are moments when I stop and realize just how far this journey has come. What started as a single story has become a growing series, a growing town, and a cast of characters who continue to surprise me.
The Emerson Grove Series was always intended to be about more than romance. It’s about friendship, loyalty, second chances, found family, and the people who show up when life gets messy. It just happens to include a healthy amount of chemistry, sarcasm, stubbornness, and at least one cat who believes he runs the entire town.
(He’s not entirely wrong.)
As Book 3 moves closer to release, I’m excited to share more behind-the-scenes content, character features, sneak peeks, and a few surprises. If you’ve been following along since Book 1, thank you. If you’ve recently discovered Emerson Grove, welcome.
Whether you’re here for the romance, the suspense, the friendships, the humour, or Bandit the cat, I’m grateful you’re spending time in this little corner of my imagination.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, there are manuscripts to edit, coffee to drink, and entirely too much laundry to fold.
Funny how Blaze never seems to have that problem.
Happy reading,
Kalen Kory
